Talk Money Week is an annual campaign that hopefully encourages open discussions, conversations and engagement into personal finance. Financial well-being, money management where individuals become connected with their finances.
The subject of personal finance, or the world of investing can appear too complex and confusing to most people. As we aren’t taught about it in school, or in the workplace. So for most people it’s complete inertia. Or a subject we somewhat neglect or put on the back burner in the list of our priorities or daily activities.
It is basically a platform to encourage others to share knowledge to others. With the aim of improving people’s financial literacy.
To improve people’s financial literacy is the main reason, why I started this blog channel. By speaking to people on a daily basis about how you may access a personal pension in the later years. It amazes me the number of people that din’t understand how certain financial products work.
So when is Talk Money week !
In 2025, it runs from November 3rd to November 6th. With many organisations using initiatives to promote the discussion about everyday money matters.
It could cover any topic such as budgeting, savings, investing, debts (managing and repaying). Or even basics about long term financial planning. So you can improve your financial situation in the short term or start laying some plans for medium or long term financial planning.
I believe that nobody should care more about your future than you. So use this opportunity to get involved within your current and financial future. But it is considered taboo or somewhat strange to talk to others about our financial affairs or situation within the UK.
So what is the aim for this year !
For 2025, the emphasis is to ask people and companies within the UK to “DO ONE THING / START THE CONVERSATION“. So you can improve your financial situation. At the same time to inspire those around you to do the same thing also.
On a personal level, my 1 thing to do, is to consolidate and simplify the number of accounts and credits cards that I have. So they are much more manageable and simpler to control in future.
In our current period of so-called cost of living crisis and daily pressures. Getting support for any money worries you have can be invaluable. So the aim is to make better decisions and reduce financial stress, feel more in control, have a better relationship with money in general.
So how can someone participate in Talk Money week 2025 !
